YES, LORD

Christianity is a simple relationship with Christ and it should always be considered as such. There is nothing complicated about loving Jesus because he first loved us and seeking to obey him because we love him. There are two words you need to know to be a disciple of Jesus Christ: “Yes, Lord.”

“When Jesus left there, two blind men followed Him, crying out, Son of David, have mercy on us! And when He had entered the house, the blind men approached Him. And Jesus said to them, Do you believe that I am able to do this? They said to Him, Yes, Lord. Then He touched their eyes, saying, Let it be done to you according to your faith.” (Matthew‬ ‭9‬:‭27‬-‭29‬).

Jesus was willing to heal them, but He had a question for them: “Do you really believe that I am able to do this?” Their faith connected them to the willingness of the Savior. He is willing to help any and to save any. He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). But we have to connect to His willingness. It is faith and love that does that.

Perhaps He would ask us the same thing today. “Do you believe that I am able? Do you really want a relationship with me? Do you really want to be close to me?” He is willing. He has always been willing. Now we must join our hearts to Him by saying just what these two blind men said: ”Yes, Lord.” That is always the answer. The answer is always “Yes, Lord.”
