WHO CAN BE AGAINST US?

If God is for us who can be against us? Paul asked that question in Romans 8:31. And it is wise to consider the meaning and magnitude of the inquiry. God, the sovereign, omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent ruling power of the universe pledges his loyalty to those who take his side. If we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ then God accepts us into his family. Prior to that, sin makes us enemies of God (Romans 5:10). By making different choices and living a different kind of life we can be on the side of God. And God will be on our side.

So the question makes perfect sense. Can anyone defeat God? Can anyone stifle God‘s purpose? Can anyone cause God to tremble, to be anxious, or to panic? God is above and beyond all that would threaten us in this world. If he is on our side, who or what could come against us that is worthy of any concern?

The Bible says in Hebrews 13:5-6 that God has promised never to leave or forsake us. Which allows us to confidently proclaim, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere humans do to me?”

Believing on the Lord and leaning on his power, knowing his intimate presence, should eradicate all fear of man. All fear of anything. For there is nothing that can come against us that can prove victorious as long as we stand with God. Absolutely nothing. 

Taking a stand with God is taking a stand for yourself. It is taking advantage of the offer from the only one who can help. His promises are meaningful. His promises cannot fail. Believe in God, trust him, and do not fear.
